About Us
The Undergraduate Journal of Exercise Science (UJES) is an international, scientific peer-reviewed journal that contains information relative to the investigation of exercise science. UJES is dedicated to bringing the highest quality undergraduate research within the field of exercise sciences with the primary aims of encouraging undergraduate researchers to explore and apply scientific knowledge to improve health and advance human performance. The Undergraduate Journal of Exercise Science is published in Toronto, ON, Canada (ISSN pending from Library and Archives Canada).
UJES aims to keep researchers informed of the developments occurring in the field of exercise science by evaluating manuscripts for their scientific quality, validity, and importance.
The objectives of UJES are to enhance the professional study and practice of exercise sciences by providing emerging scientific advances and furthering international collaboration among exercise sciences societies. The objectives of UJES are as follows:
- To enhance the professional study and practice of exercise science.
- To maintain the highest standard of editorial integrity and to promote the integrity of science.
- To improve publication access to undergraduate students and eliminate the financial barrier to publish and access articles.
- To foster responsible and balanced discussions on important issues that affect health, relate to exercise and biomedical science, and health policy.
- To inform readers about the various aspects and disciplines of exercise science, including physiology, psychology, biomechanics, neural control, training, physical culture, epidemiology, medicine, and others.
- To promote ethically based practices and to produce an open-access publication that is credible and legible.
To accomplish these goals, UJES publishes clinical, basic sciences, and policy related articles from universities, institutions, and organizations from around the world. UJES consists and publishes the following types of articles:
